• Tell someone where you are going. Also let them know when you expect to be back.

•  Fully charge your cell phone. There may not be cell reception, but at least you have a full charge if there is.
   

 Pack an Emergency Kit

• ​Safety Whistle-3 blasts on the whistle is the international distress call

• Flashlight or headlamp

• Lighter or waterproof matches

• Multi-function tool

• Space blanket

• Pepper Spray- I have never felt unsafe when hiking alone, but I do believe in being prepared
