Stump Road & Pennsy Road | Martic Township
Trout Run is a part of the Lancaster County Conservancy. This 198-acre preserve features a heavily wooded ravine with more than 12 species of ferns, a colorful palette of spring-blooming wildflowers and other lush foliage that line the trail near Trout Run, which flows into the Pequea Creek. Huge boulders line each side of the stream, which is full of rapids and cascades.
This beautiful hike that takes you all along Trout Run, crossing over it in several spots. There is a spot where you cross over the run using a downed tree which has become a bit of a log jam. This can be a lot of fun if you are up for an adventure or challenging if you were just looking to go for a walk. It's not impossible to cross the stream without getting your feet wet, but it can be difficult. Parts of the trail can be quite steep and you will find yourself climbing over some slippery rocks, so this is not a hike for someone that is unstable on their feet.
